Tina Dooley-Jones '82 served as the U.S. Mission Director to US Agency for International Development (AID) in Afghanistan. She was also the Mission Director for USAID/Kenya and East Africa, part of 30-plus years in international development as a researcher, private consultant and with the U.S. AID. She maintains expertise and in-depth knowledge of the role and potential of international assistance to catalyze inclusive democracies, economies, and social systems and services that address the needs and aspirations of individuals, households, communities, countries, and regions.

Annie Pforzheimer served as U.S. Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Afghanistan and earlier as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Kabul, one of the largest U.S. embassies in the world. Her 30-year diplomatic career focused on security, rule of law, and human rights policy, and included working in the National Security Council on Central American migration. She served overseas in South Africa, El Salvador, Turkey, Colombia, and Mexico, and received the State Department’s 2001 recognition for human rights reporting, as well as numerous honor awards. Currently she is a public commentator on foreign policy, affiliated with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Adjunct Faculty, Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, The City University of New York. 

Moderator, Victoria Holt is the Norman E. McCulloch Jr. Director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. Earlier she was Vice President, the Henry L. Stimson Center, a Washington, D.C.-based institute focused on international affairs. She is a former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State (International Organizations), serving at State from 2009-2017, responsible for policy in the UN Security Council and offices on Peace Operations, Sanctions & Counterterrorism and UN Political Affairs. Holt also has worked in Congress, taught at Columbia University, and has written extensively on issues related to international conflict and prevention.
