President Hanlon expresses his gratitude to staff for their heroic efforts throughout the pandemic.
To our employees,
The fall term is underway, and I know that each of you is working hard to welcome and support our students at this busy time. The pandemic has reinforced for all of us that every role at Dartmouth is important. Whether you are teaching, cleaning, creating, coaching, serving, healing, building, researching, or managing—no matter the position, you are an essential part of the mission of this institution, and I am proud to be your colleague.
As you know, Dartmouth typically grants employees the week off between Christmas Day and New Year's Day. I am also pleased to share that this year the holiday break will once again be expanded to include the week before Christmas, giving you more time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest, from December 20-31.
In addition, and in appreciation of your dedication and effort, now and over the past 18 months, I would like to announce the addition this year of an extra, floating personal day, which you can use any time before June 30 in consultation with your supervisor.
I am grateful for all you do for Dartmouth. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Philip J. Hanlon '77
President
