Vision & Strategy

In the fall of 2013, President Hanlon shared his vision for Dartmouth to become a site of intellectual risk-taking, where students and faculty at all levels collaborate at the leading edge of discovery to take on some of the foremost challenges of our time. This vision spurred Dartmouth to recommit to teaching excellence while significantly enhancing the research and scholarship that happens on and off campus, amplifying its global impact.

The $3 billion Call to Lead campaign—the most ambitious fundraising campaign in Dartmouth history—is helping Dartmouth to achieve the vision President Hanlon set forth at the beginning of his presidency through a strategy centered on academic excellence

At the heart of that strategy lies attracting the world's best talent, cultivating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community, instilling a culture of fiscal discipline and rigor, and investing in the infrastructure needed to facilitate unparalleled learning experiences and interdisciplinary collaboration.
