President Hanlon welcomes students and colleagues to the start of winter term while wishing the campus community a happy new year.
President Hanlon delivered his annual State of the College address at the fall meeting of the general faculty.
"This is so much more than a building. It's a symbol of how we make our mark on the world – through the pathbreaking research that happens on our campus and through the development of leaders equipped with the skills and desire to make the world a better place," said President Hanlon.

Through a decade of change, Dartmouth's president bolstered academics, global standing.
"Thayer exemplifies the magic that can happen when all of our institutional strengths and priorities align," said President Hanlon at Thayer's anniversary gala.
In an opinion piece for the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, President Hanlon writes about his experience in Silicon Valley at the Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Forum (DEF).
"As Dartmouth has shown time and again, the liberal arts education is an incubator for leadership and impact on the world," said President Hanlon in a message to the community.
