This position will oversee campuswide organizations that build community across the institution, including the William Jewett Tucker Center, Outdoor Programs, and the Office of Community Life and Inclusivity. In addition, Jennifer will work with partners across the university to identify community building and campus life needs and collaborate to enhance the student experience for Dartmouth's undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. She will also oversee Community Relations. Over time, we imagine the Community and Campus Life portfolio will continue to evolve.

Jennifer will work closely with Eric Ramsey and Anne Hudak, co-interim deans of the College, to ensure, first, a seamless transition of the functions moving into the new unit. Second, she will partner with Eric, Anne, and the rest of Student Affairs to continue and enhance the valuable community building work that Student Affairs has always done. They will also coordinate support efforts to make sure students continue to receive the support they need to thrive.

Campus and Community Life is its own entity. It is not part of Student Affairs, nor is it part of IDE. It will, however, work closely with both. Senior Vice President for Community and Campus Life Jennifer Rosales will work closely with co-interim Deans of the College Anne Hudak and Eric Ramsey as well as with Senior Vice President and Senior Diversity Officer Shontay Delalue to provide comprehensive support for students and collaborate on opportunities to build community across the institution.

As part of the changes, we are enhancing how we support international students and our connection to the world. Senior Vice President Shontay Delalue is adding global inclusion to her portfolio and IDE will now provide support for international undergraduate and graduate students. IDE will also be responsible for oversight of international risk management and mitigation policies for international travelers on Dartmouth-affiliated business, promoting the safety of all Dartmouth travelers who study and work abroad.

Jennifer has a strong track record of working closely with faculty throughout her career and will build on faculty and staff engagement as well. These organizations were created to serve undergraduates and over time have informally expanded to serve wider segments of our population. While undergraduates will continue to be a focus, we are confident that intentionally and thoughtfully expanding access to all students will benefit a growing number of our community members.

Jennifer comes to us most recently from Barnard College, where she served as vice president for inclusion and engaged learning and chief diversity officer. In that role, Jennifer developed a strategy that anchored the institution's diversity and inclusion work in the learning benefits it brings to the entire community—in the classroom, through co-curricular activities, and in relationships and programming outside campus. She also led important campus initiatives such as a faculty task force on free expression.

Jennifer previously served as the inaugural director of the Center for Engaged Pedagogy at Barnard, and before that, as director of research and evaluation at the Center for Social Justice at Georgetown University. She served as assistant professor of practice in education at Barnard and as an adjunct professor in the Program on Justice and Peace Studies at Georgetown. She earned her PhD in the School of Cinematic Arts, Division of Critical Studies, at the University of Southern California.
