Join Dartmouth Library’s Morgan Swan from Rauner Special Collections and Sarah Smith from the Book Arts Workshop for a fascinating look at records created during times of crisis and pandemic. Morgan will show you some examples of documents that Dartmouth students wrote during the smallpox epidemic during Revolutionary War and during the 1918 Flu, as well as some cool items related to the 1666 bubonic plague epidemic in London. Then Sarah Smith will help you make your own journal using materials from your house or from a kit the Book Arts Workshop has put together for you—your choice. This event is accompanied by a Rauner Library blog post about pandemic writings in the Rauner collection here: https://raunerlibrary.blogspot.com/.as well as instructions for making a simple book on the Book Arts Workshop’s resource guide here: https://researchguides.dartmouth.edu/c.php?g=1022238&p=7404661
