The evening's program features David Kim, concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, in Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, a work considered by 19th century violin virtuoso Joachim as the "richest and most seductive" German violin concerto. The evening opens with George Walker's moving Lyric for Strings and closes with Beethoven's inspirational masterpiece, Symphony no. 3 "Eroica."
