HACKING GRAINS
The Department of Digital Musics @ Dartmouth College presents Hacking Grains.
Hacking Grains is a installation+performance project by Graduate Student Trevor Van de Velde that explores the interconnectiveness between ritual, technology, and asian identity.
Hacking Grains features custom built rice cooker synthesizers premiered & performed by nyc-based performers, Chromic Duo .
CHROMIC
chromic is a piano duo composed of NYC based pianists dorothy chan + lucy yao. they share a commitment to classical and contemporary music. together, they integrate prepared piano and electronics into their playing.
TREVOR VAN DE VELDE
Trevor Van de Velde is a composer & creative technologist at Dartmouth College. His research is oriented towards electroacoustic composition, mixed-media installation, hacking appliances, as well as exploring the relationship between playfulness and technology.
LOCATION
This performance will take place in the basement of the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Rm58, right by the Music Department and fabrication shops. If entering the Hop from Lebanon St, immediately go down the stairs. If entering from the Wheelock, make a right and walk down past the Courtyard Cafe, down the stairs, and look for signs. Thanks!
