This easygoing, thoughtful comedy follows impulsive Antoinette as she accidentally-on-purpose goes on the same donkey-trekking holiday as her lover's family. Channeling Bridget Jones, our heroine gamely tackles six days of hiking, hostels and bonding with Patrick, her perpetually cantankerous trail companion. Calamy's warm, generous performance grounds the film as the story shifts from gentle farce to a journey of emotional growth. As Antoinette finds herself on this Eat…Bray…Love adventure, she discovers that the real chemistry was with the four-legged ass, not the human one. D: Caroline Vignal, France, subtitled, 2022
