Josef Parvizi, MD, PhD, Stanford University
Please join us in Moore BO3 on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 1:15 p.m., for a colloquium given by Dr. Josef Parvizi, Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Stanford University. Title and abstract are below.
Title: Probing Causal Interactions Among Hippocampal, Thalamic, Orbitofrontal, and Medial Parietal Nodes of Autobiographical Memory Using Direct Recordings and Electrical Perturbations in the Human Brain
Abstract: Remembering personal past events requires the coordination of activity across cortical and subcortical areas in the subsecond temporal scale. However, the spatiotemporal mechanisms of such fast interactions in the human brain remain poorly understood. Here, I will present series of studies aimed at deciphering the neural functional architecture of the sense of self in the human brain. I will be presenting an overview of the last 15 years of research in this field.
A virtual option will also be provided; Zoom details will be forthcoming.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
