Sandro Santagata M.D. Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Associate Professor of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School. He practices Neuropathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he directs a research laboratory in the Department of Pathology. He is a member of the Ludwig Center at Harvard, the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science, and the HMS Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology (LSP). He is leading efforts to generate tumor atlases as part of the NCI Moonshot Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN). His work uses multiplexed tissue imaging of cancer resection specimens in 2D and 3D to understand the biological properties of tumor cells within their native microenvironments.

This presentation will 1) provide an overview of multiplexed tissue imaging, data processing, and data sharing in the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN), 2) present the use of these approaches in cancer biology and cell biology discovery, and clinical biomarker development, and 3) highlight future directions in tissue imaging.
