How can we live a meaningful life, in touch with ourselves and with Mother Earth? How can we learn to respond with intelligence and compassion to the increasingly challenging situations that come our way, personally and collectively? Facing the crises of climate change, the destruction of biodiversity, and political polarization, how can we keep a level head and take care of our strong emotions, all the while contributing creatively to reduce suffering?

This session of applied mindfulness, led by senior monastic Dharma teachers of scholar, poet, peace activist, and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village Tradition from Deer Park Monastery, California, will train us in the art of mindful living, so we can find dynamic responses to the ever-changing difficulties in our study, work and relationships. When we train our mind and learn to trust our inherent goodness, new possibilities manifest that cannot be discovered by thinking alone. This workshop will help us to learn to stop and look deeply into our lives, so we can develop the capacity to work collectively to bring joy, harmony and a beautiful way forward. Mindfulness practice brings us a radical revisioning of what it means to be a human being on this planet.
