Title: There Is No Way To Happiness, Happiness Is the Way: A Deep Dive into Engaged Mindfulness

Date: Saturday 4/22 and Sunday 4/23

Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on 4/22 and 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on 4/23

Description: Senior monastic Dharma teachers in Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's Plum Village Tradition from Deer Park Monastery in California will provide a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with yourself and others. Over the course of two days, participants will engage in guided meditations, mindful movement, mindful eating, contemplative practices, and interactive discussions.

Through mindfulness, participants will have the opportunity to cultivate greater insight, compassion, resiliency, inclusivity, and loving kindness in order to support well-being and collectively address the challenges we face as a human species, including grief, climate change, social inequality, and global conflict. This retreat is open to the Dartmouth and broader community. It is appropriate for those who are new to mindfulness practice as well as experienced practitioners.

Registration Required: Limited to 200. Dartmouth students $20, Dartmouth faculty and staff $50, and community members $100. (Dartmouth pricing note: Before purchasing your ticket, log into the HOP website first with your Dartmouth email address in order to get pricing related to your role as student, staff, or faculty.)

Vegan Lunch served both days. Contact student.wellness.center@dartmouth.edu if registration fee poses a financial hardship.
