Solange M. Saxby, PhD, RDN, is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa, where she investigates the influence of dietary interventions on neurodegenerative diseases through both patient-reported and clinical outcomes. Diet is a well-known lifestyle modification that can improve an individual’s quality of life and overall health. Beyond just this, dietary modifications have the potential to be adjunct therapies to current standard-of-care practices when it comes to many chronic diseases. Dr. Saxby will present some of her current research exploring the influence of dietary modifications on health outcomes among individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, and the potential for a similar approach to cancer management.
