5 pm – 6 pm
001 Dartmouth Hall
Intended Audience(s): Public
Categories: Lectures & Seminars

Professor Gabriela Almeida will discuss some contemporary peripheral Brazilian queer films which propose aesthetics and narratives that are distant from the logic of denunciation and explicit political militancy.

Professor Daniel Petry will share his experience as a professor of cinema at underserved areas of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The talk will explore the peculiarities of teaching artistic forms in such an environment as well as dealing with students’ professional expectations.
