With traditional rhythms and new melodies, the band redefines Garifuna music for a new generation.
The multi-generational collective made it its mission to bring to the world Garifuna's soulful and vibrant music—a unique genre originating from the Garifuna people of the Caribbean and Central America, characterized by lively rhythms, call-and-response vocals, traditional instruments like the drum and maracas and storytelling lyrics that preserve their cultural heritage and history.
At the Hop, they perform hits from their latest album ABAN (which means "One" in the Garifuna language), reflecting the spirit of unity and self-sufficiency that has kept this Afro-Indigenous people, language and culture alive and fighting for over 300 years.
