A smart comedy about supporting your partner and always giving the wrong anniversary presents.

Sometimes insincere praise can be more damaging than honest criticism. That's the kernel of Nicole Holofcener's newest comedy, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tobias Menzies and Michaela Watkins. Holofcener's films excel in their sneaky ability to wrench genuine pathos and smarting humor from seemingly small, but enormously relatable, everyday grievances. Her characters are grounded, believable and just as baffled as everyone else. And, finally, here's a movie not afraid to tell the truth about V-neck sweaters and leafy earrings. Any parent or lover will see much of themselves in You Hurt My Feelings.
