This new thriller comedy asks: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first?

This refreshingly original horror-comedy centers around a group of Black friends who get away for a Juneteenth weekend only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin at the mercy of a deranged killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends must use their street smarts and knowledge of horror movies to stay alive. Subverting expectations by skewering stale genre tropes, The Blackening poses the sardonic question: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first?
