Mekala Krishnan, McKinsey Global Institute, will discuss the implications of the global transition to net zero emissions by 2050.
Join us for the first talk in a new series, Conversations on the Path to Net Zero. In our first session on Tuesday, October 17 from 5-6 pm in Cook Auditorium, Mekala Krishnan, partner at the McKinsey Global Institute, will discuss the massive undertaking represented by the global transition to net-zero emissions by 2050.
What is the scale of the physical and economic transformation involved? What role have recent geopolitical and environmental events played in shaping the world’s approach to reaching this goal? And given the impressive magnitude of investments required to reach net-zero, how can the financing needs be met?
Mekala Krishnan, Partner at the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), will draw upon the extensive research of a team she led at McKinsey to provide insights into the broader context of the transition, encompassing society-wide concerns such as the affordability, security, availability, and equity of energy investments. Tuck Professor of Business Administration Anant Sundaram will moderate the talk.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
