Abstract: Our world is awash in misinformation, fake news, and junk science. You would think that the widespread availability of information would make debunking such nonsense easy, but it is not. Part of the problem is that we cannot agree on what constitutes truth, let alone news. This is a problem that scientists and philosophers have struggled with for millennia, so it should not come as a surprise that the struggle continues today. Despite this, there are strategies that we can employ to fight misinformation.
