Sekile M. Nzing is the Chief Equity Officer for the State of Illinois and former interim Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Provost of Diversity and Inclusion at Northwestern University. Her book, Lean Semesters: How Higher Education Reproduces Inequityaddresses in depth the reality that women of color, particularly Black women, face compounded exploitation and economic inequality within universities. Nzinga will be interviewed by Natasha Wariko, professor of sociology at Tufts University. This event is free and part of the online book conversation series, Academic Innovation for the Public Good.
