Join the Rockefeller for a Rocky Talk Live session with Matt McDonald ’00. Matt will discuss his experience in public relations in Washington, D.C. and ways to navigate the professional field in the nation’s capital. Matt will share current thinking on stakeholder engagement and models for navigating public policy issues.
Speaker Bio:
Matt McDonald ’00 is the President of Penta and has served as a senior counselor to leaders in the public and private sectors for more than two decades, providing guidance at the intersection of communications and business strategy. Prior to Penta, Matt was a consultant for McKinsey in their New York and Washington offices. Previously Matt had also worked in the Bush White House as well as serving as an advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger, Senator McCain, and Governor Romney. Matt is a Dartmouth 2000 where he was an economics major and he later got his MBA at MIT.
Moderator Bio:
Jason Barabas ’93 is the Director of the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth College as well as a Professor in the Department of Government. Professor Barabas earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree in Government from Dartmouth. In the years since, he has held postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard and Princeton as well as academic faculty positions in New York, Florida, and Illinois. Currently, Professor Barabas teaches and conducts research on public policy and opinion preferences with an emphasis on research design. Jason Barabas is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, and he has received professional awards from the American Political Science Association and the International Society for Political Psychology.
