Matthew O. Jackson is Trione Chair of the Department of Economics and William D. Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University, as well as an external faculty member of the Santa Fe Institute. In The Human Network: How Your Social Position Determines Your Power, Beliefs, and Behaviors, he explores how positions within complex social structures have an outsized influence on our lives and can lead to inequality, social immobility, and political polarization.

Freeland Fisher and Jackson will be interviewed by Mallika Vinekar, director of the Office of Digital Education at Vanderbilt University.
