Becoming Eve is the true story of Rabbi Abby Chava Stein, the child of a prominent Hasidic family whose identity as a trans woman comes into opposition with the strictly gendered world in which she was raised. The play centers on a conversation between Abby, her devout father and a young liberal rabbi, as they reckon with questions of gender and faith.
A conversation with the artists follows the performance.
